Shawn

Grew up here in Snohomish County with the majority of her childhood in Everett. Spent entire childhood in a house full of dogs so grooming was just kind of a natural thing to go into so in 1990 went through a grooming course and have been grooming ever since. Opened my first business in Mill Creek in 1998 and after a severe cat bite, took two years off. Came back to grooming in 2003 working for local shops and then in 2005 opened Shampooches. This is my second personal business and the fourth grooming business I have started.
I attend yearly continuing education seminars to stay current on handling procedures and breed standards and just received my *Certified Master Groomer (CMG) certificate in December 2007 being the first in Marysville to receive it.
I "discovered" the fun side of pet styling through creativity with hair color, stenciling, and nail painting a few years ago when attending a seminar in Las Vegas.
I now keep two of my dogs in color whenever possible.
I specialize in hand scissoring, poodles, small and medium size dogs.
Been married to John for 16 years and have two daughters Kaeleigh, 16 and Hannah, 14 who help out on weekends and during the summer.
In my off time I like to snuggle with the dogs, spending time with Kaeleigh and Hannah, and work in the yard when it's nice.

John

Grew up in Whatcom and King County with the majority of his childhood in Bothell. Went through the job corps for tile setting but ended up in the construction industry. After years of waking up with a sore back, he switched to janitorial work while helping Shawn during holiday seasons and whenever else needed. After 15 years of helping Shawn, he decided to learn how to groom himself and had Shawn teach him. He has now been grooming 2 1/2 years specializing in large breeds and hard to handle dogs. He will also groom cats.
Attends yearly continuing education seminars to stay current on handling procedures and breed standards.
In his off time likes to work in the yard and visit with friends.
John is currently owned by Chase & Lola

 

Simon

Hi, my name is Simon, a Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix  and I am the shop greeter/mascot.
I was born in another state but have grown up here in Marysville. I was adopted by mommy when I was 3 months old and had never had a haircut before then. I now sport a terrier style 'do with poodle feet, a teddy face, and shaved ears. This has been called the "Simey cut" and after trying many other styles, it's mine mommy's and my favorite. What my job consists of is greeting everybody when they come in and then run with the doggies to the front door when they leave.
I am also a "guinea pig" for coloring, nail polish, and different hair styles every now and then.
When I don't go to work, I go to day care and charm everybody there.
In my spare time I like to be hugged, cuddled, sleep under the blankets, and bat my eyelashes to get what I want.

 

* CMG is a series of tests demonstrating practical and written knowledge of breed groups culminating in the final test of 400 questions covering all breeds, anatomy, bone structure, chemicals, & cats.
